MOXI® Laser in Long Island, NY

Whether you are looking to address common signs of aging or prevent them from developing in the first place, our MOXI® laser treatment can help. Pincus Plastic Surgery is proud to offer Sciton® ‘s MOXI® laser, an effective non-ablative fractional laser treatment offering a gentler approach to skin resurfacing.

MOXI® works by heating deeper skin layers to promote collagen production and the growth of new skin cells. As the new skin cells replace the old ones, skin imperfections like discoloration, uneven texture, and sun damage will gradually improve.

Am I A Candidate for MOXI® Laser Treatment?

MOXI® is an excellent skin resurfacing solution for individuals who want to kick-start their skin care journeys with minimal downtime.

MOXI®is proven to be safe, and most healthy adults can benefit from it — at any age! In fact, this treatment is known as a prejuvenation treatment, as it offers preventative care to ensure long-lasting correction. The treatment is effective on all skin types and can be applied all over your body.

MOXI® is beneficial for patients who:

  • Are bothered by skin imperfections caused by sun damage or aging
  • Have melasma or are concerned with hyperpigmentation
  • Are in good physical health
  • Understand what the treatment can achieve and have realistic expectations

When you visit Pincus Plastic Surgery, we will help you determine if MOXI® laser treatment is right for you.

Who Is Not a Good Candidate for MOXI® Laser Treatment?

Although MOXI® is generally safe, you may not be a good candidate for the procedure if you smoke. This is because the treatment relies on natural regenerative healing, which smoking can negatively affect. Besides, if you are pregnant, you shouldn’t undergo any kind of laser treatment. Lastly, you may not be an ideal candidate for MOXI® laser treatment if you have active acne.

How Is MOXI® Laser Treatment Performed?

MOXI® laser treatment is a minimally invasive treatment that takes about 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the area being treated. It begins with numbing the treatment area with topical anesthesia. This is meant to minimize any discomfort.

Once the topical anesthesia has taken effect, the handheld MOXI® laser device will be rolled over the treatment area. By doing this, the device will send its non-ablative laser wavelengths to the deepest layers of our skin.

Heating the tissue below the dermis will stimulate collagen production, gradually improving skin imperfections like wrinkles, fine lines, and sun damage.

MOXI® can be combined with other non-surgical treatments or surgical procedures.

What Is MOXI® Laser Treatment Recovery Like?

MOXI® laser treatment is minimally invasive and requires little to no downtime. You may experience a warm sensation and skin redness for the first few days after the treatment; however, you should not experience any pain.

The skin on the treatment area may initially darken and feel drier, but after a few days, the dry skin will peel off and reveal fresh, new skin underneath.

Although the treatment will not affect your daily routine, it may take up to one week for your skin to normalize, and you will need to consider social downtime.

What Results Can I Expect From a MOXI® Laser Treatment?

Once the dry outermost layer of the skin sloughs off, you will have fresh, new, glowing skin.

It is important to note that improvement will continue over the following months.

Depending on the severity of your skin imperfections and how dramatic you want the results to be, one treatment session may not be enough. You may need three to six treatment sessions every four weeks to achieve optimum results.
