What Is a Contour TRL?

Contour Tunable Resurfacing Laser (TRL) is a non-surgical treatment that uses advanced laser technology to combat skin issues and signs of aging, leaving you with rejuvenated skin. This treatment is an Erbium YAG skin resurfacing laser known for treating a range of skin conditions with minimal to no downtime. How Is Contour TRL Treatment Performed?
Before your treatment begins, one of our providers will sanitize your skin in preparation for the laser. The treatment area will also be numbed, typically with local anesthesia, to ensure your comfort during the procedure. You’ll be given special eyewear to protect your eyes from the laser.
Our laser specialist will place the Contour TRL device over the chosen area and move it over the area as many times as necessary. A computer scanner shines a red light on the skin and guides the laser as it passes over the area for more precision. A treatment session typically takes 15 to 30 minutes, but depending on the location and the level of correction needed, it may take longer. Additionally, multiple treatments may be required to achieve the desired results.
Contour TRL uses a strong and focused beam of laser energy to tackle issues on the skin’s top layer. Depending on how deep into the skin it goes, this laser can produce subtle to dramatic results. When the laser is worked deep into the skin, it increases collagen production and cell turnover, leaving you with new, healthy, younger-looking skin.
What Is Contour TRL Recovery Like?
One of the greatest perks of Contour TRL for most patients is the minimal downtime associated with treatment.
After your appointment, you can expect to experience some swelling, redness, and mild discomfort. Many patients feel as though they’ve undergone an intense sunburn after their Contour TRL procedure, as the sensation is comparable to how the skin feels after this treatment. It’s essential to avoid sun exposure and touching your skin after your procedure.
If you’ve undergone a shallow treatment, your recovery will take three to five days. For more intense treatments, the recovery period may last around two weeks. During your recovery period, it is normal for your skin to feel warm, tight, and dry. You may also experience some oozing.
You’ll be given specific aftercare instructions to help guide you through your skin’s recovery. To ensure that your skin stays safe, healthy, and fully heals, carefully follow the instructions so you can enjoy your results sooner.
What Results Can I Expect After Contour TRL?
It will take some time before your full results are visible. You will first see improvements in your skin about two weeks after your Contour TRL treatment. Your skin will continue to improve over the next few weeks, and final results can be expected in three to four months.
After your skin has recovered from treatment, you’ll notice a smoother appearance and a noticeable reduction of scars, fine lines, and wrinkles. Your skin will have a softer, more youthful look and continue to look even better due to the increase in collagen formation.
