Are Daddy Makeovers a Thing?
6 Minute Read:
Nearly everyone has heard about the Mommy Makeover, right?
Mommy Makeovers allow moms to rejuvenate their physical appearance and body contours with various plastic surgery procedures.
And while this procedure is extremely effective, it begs the question: What about Dad?! Don’t dads also need (and deserve) a physical makeover to help them look and feel their best?
Well, the good news is that Daddy Makeovers are a very real thing, and they can help men achieve their cosmetic goals!
But what exactly is a Daddy Makeover? Well, this blog will answer that question and explore the different procedures and options for men looking to combine plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments so that they can have the most transformative results possible.
What Is a Daddy Makeover?
Like a Mommy Makeover, a Daddy Makeover is not a single procedure. Instead, it is a fully customizable combination of cosmetic procedures (both surgical and non-surgical). While each of these procedures can be performed independently, combining them into one procedure allows for optimal results, and it also saves on cost and recovery time (since you are having and recovering from multiple procedures at the same time).
At your consultation, you will be able to share your cosmetic frustrations and goals, and Dr. Pincus will evaluate your condition to help you decide which Daddy Makeover procedures are best for you.
Below, you’ll find a list and brief description of the most common Daddy Makeover procedure options.
Liposuction
In 2020, liposuction was one of the top five most performed plastic surgery procedures. That is because liposuction surgery is one of the most effective and multi-functioning procedures available, and it can be performed as a standalone procedure or with other plastic surgery procedures.
Liposuction removes excess and stubborn subcutaneous fat from the body. This stubborn fat is the kind that remains in your body and doesn’t go away, no matter how healthy your diet is or how often you hit the gym.
The only way to get rid of this fat is through plastic surgery, and the best part is that once the fat is removed with liposuction, it’s gone permanently.
Liposuction procedure steps:
- For this procedure, a small incision is made in your skin.
- A cannula (a thin tube) is then inserted through this incision to loosen fat in the treatment area.
- This fat is vacuumed out of your body through the cannula, and then your incisions are closed, leaving you with fewer fat cells in your body.
Tummy Tuck
Tummy tuck surgery (abdominoplasty) is one of the most transformative procedures available. Whether you want to call it “Dad-Bod” or simply a “Bad-Bod,” many men carry around extra fat and sagging skin in their midsections.
Tummy tuck procedure steps:
- For your tummy tuck procedure, an incision is made just above your pubic area that usually stretches from hip to hip.
- Liposuction may be used to remove any excess fat in the area.
- Next, Dr. Pincus will use internal sutures to tighten the abdominal muscles and reconnect tissue to the abdominal wall.
- Any excess, sagging skin will be surgically removed, and the remaining skin will be pulled tight before the incisions are closed.
After your tummy tuck, you will notice a more defined and contoured abdomen.
Gynecomastia Surgery
Many men struggle with gynecomastia (enlarged male breasts). This condition can cause them to feel embarrassed and self-conscious about their appearance. However, gynecomastia surgery (male breast reduction) allows men to get the defined chest that they’ve always wanted.
Gynecomastia surgery procedure steps:
- For gynecomastia surgery, liposuction may be used to remove excess fat in the chest.
- If the enlarged breasts is due to excess glandular tissue or skin, however, Dr. Pincus will need to make an incision to remove the problematic tissue and skin.
- The remaining tissue will be repositioned to give you a more contoured and manly appearance.

Facelift
Our faces are the most visible parts of our body, which is why making sure your face looks the way you want it to look is so important. However, many men struggle with wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin on their faces. Luckily, a facelift can help correct these issues.
Facelift procedure steps:
- For facelift surgery, an incision is made starting at your temples and then extending down the sides of your face, ending at the base of your scalp.
- Excess fat in the area is removed, and facial tissue and muscles are tightened with internal sutures.
- Any excess and sagging skin in the face is trimmed away and then the remaining skin is tightened before the incisions are closed.
After your facelift, you will have a more defined and handsome facial appearance.
Note: Facial procedures are not performed at the same time as body contouring plastic surgeries or non-surgical treatments. Separate appointments will be made for each.
Eyelid Surgery
While facelift surgery is an effective and transformative procedure, it only addresses the lower two-thirds of the face. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a procedure to help correct the upper portion of the face. Many men suffer from puffy eyelids that make them look tired and old or sagging skin on their eyelids (which may even affect their vision). However, blepharoplasty helps to remedy these issues.
Eyelid surgery procedure steps:
- Depending on whether the upper eyelid (upper blepharoplasty) or lower eyelid (lower blepharoplasty) is performed, an incision will be made in the natural creases of the eyelid or just below the eyelashes.
- Excess fat, muscle, and skin in the eyelids will be removed and/or redistributed to give you a more youthful appearance as well as correct any obstruction in your vision.
Note: Facial procedures are not performed at the same time as body contouring plastic surgeries or non-surgical treatments. Separate appointments will be made for each.
Injectables
While many people think that a Daddy Makeover consists only of surgical procedures, the reality is that non-surgical procedures can absolutely be performed as part of a Daddy Makeover.
One of the most common minimally invasive procedures available is injectable treatments.
Whether it be a neuromodulator like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, XEOMIN®, or Jeuveau®, or dermal fillers like JUVÉDERM®, RHA, Restylane®, BELOTERO BALANCE®, or RADIESSE®, men can address issues in their face that make them look older and more worn down than they actually are.
- Neuromodulators block signals from the brain to certain muscles to keep them from contracting. By doing this, wrinkles and fine lines on the face will not be present on the face, since it is the contractions of these muscles that causes wrinkles to form.
- Dermal fillers, on the other hand, help restore lost volume in the face that result from age and life events.
Note: Non-surgical treatments are not performed at the same time as invasive plastic surgery procedures. Separate appointments will be made for each.
In the End…
Whether you choose to undergo a Daddy Makeover, or you choose to have any of these procedures performed by themselves, you can achieve the appearance you’ve always desired.
These are not your only cosmetic options. Additional procedures include:
- Minimally invasive skin tightening with BodyTite®, FaceTite®, or AccuTite™
